Iec package on knowledge and attitude regarding organ donation

Donating the organ is an act of altruism, helpful in facilitating organ retrievals in the event of brain death circumstances. Quantitative research approach, preexperimental design was used in this study. Thirty participants aged 18–60 years from Melpakkam village, Thiruvallur district were selected by non-probability convenient sampling method. Structured interview schedule and attitude scale was used to assess the level of knowledge and attitude regarding organ donation. The results revealed that there was a significant improvement in overall knowledge and attitude regarding organ donation among general public. Hence as knowledge increased attitude regarding organ donation also enhanced.
