Hypertension is a latent disorder which requires lifelong drug therapy. The focus of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the progressive muscle relaxation in hypertension among adults. There was significant decrease in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate and stress level. And also there was significant increase in well being. The ‘r ’value for pretest and post test general psychological well being and progressive muscle relaxation shows positive correlation.
