Dengue fever is a disease that is transferred via the bite of a striped Aedes aegypti mosquito, which carriers the dengue virus. Quantitative research approach, comparative research design was used. Hundred participants from age group30-60yrs were selected using convenient sampling method from urban and rural community areas of Chennai. Structured questionnaire were prepared and used to assess the pretest and posttest knowledge about Dengue fever. Tailor made education was given regarding prevention of dengue fever among people residing in urban and rural areas. The results revealed that there was a significant improvement in overall knowledge regarding prevention of dengue fever among people residing in both urban and rural areas.
