The study concluded that video assisted teaching was effective in improving the knowledge of high school students and in the comparison rural students had more knowledge than urban students. Pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design and convenient sampling was used. The result revealed that the mean score for pre-test was 8.03 for rural and 6.8 for urban students. Unpaired ‘t ’test was 3.075 which was significant at 0.05 level with df: 118. Paired ‘t ’value of rural and urban students was 21.22 and 17.62 respectively at 0.05 level with df: 59. There was significant association between pre-test knowledge of rural students and gender (4.68) at 0.05 level with df: 1.
