Oral cancer is a disease with a worldwide distribution. The present study assesses the effect of Structured Teaching Programme (STP) on knowledge and attitude regarding prevention of oral cancer among migrant labourers in selected wards of puramuttom panchayat in Pathanamthitta district in 2017 The investigator selected 60 migrant laborers by convenience sampling. The study revealed that among 60 subjects, In the Pre-test 13% of migrant laborers had good attitude, 35% had average attitude and 51.7% had poor attitude towards prevention of oral cancer. After intervention 68.30% had good attitude, 27% had average attitude and 5% had poor attitude towards prevention of oral cancer. The effect of STP on knowledge and attitude was computed by paired t value obtained was 23.059, 35.931 respectively which is greater than table value. Hence research hypothesis was accepted. The study concluded that STP is one of the effective teaching method of improve the knowledge and attitude.
