Preconception Care

Preconception care is the provision of biomedical, behavioural and social health interventions to women and couples before conception occurs. The main objective of preconception care is to reduce maternal and child mortality & to improve maternal and child health. The areas which is addressed in the preconception care package includes the following Nutritional conditions, Tobacco use, Genetic conditions, Environmental health, Infertility/sub-fertility, Mental health, Psychoactive substance use etc.
