Abstract

Janani Suraksha Yojana is the scheme to reduce the maternal and newborn morbidities and mortalities. Maternal education is important for reducing the morbidity and mortality rate. This study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge regarding Janani Suraksha Yojana among antenatal mothers. A quantitative research approach of non-experimental descriptive design was chosen for this study. By using purposive sampling technique, a total of 30 participants were selected. The result revealed that 14(47%) were having inadequate knowledge, 16(53.4%) were having only moderately adequate knowledge & also there was no association of demographic variables with knowledge on Janani Suraksha Yojana scheme among antenatal mothers. This study implies that there is a need to create awareness on Janani Suraksha Yojana scheme among antenatal mothers.
