Abstract

Fluorosis is a disease caused by deposition of fluorides in the hard and soft tissues of the body. In Asian countries like India and China has encountered major health issues due to high fluoride level. A systemic review of various research papers in the present study are analyzed. Which deduces that fluorosis is not only major dental problem but also a major public health problem due to its skeletal and non skeletal health effects. Nearly 2% of Indian child population is suffering from dental fluorosis. Water conservation, water filtration and dietary management can improve mitigation in fluorosed cases and fluoride affected areas.
