Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of self- teaching module on knowledge and practice of health appraisal of school teachers. The research design was Quasi-Experimental design. 38 school teachers were selected by using Simple random sampling technique. Pre and post assessments were done using the questionnaire. Self- teaching module was used to teach about the physical examination to find out any deviation from normal and identify school health problems such as poor personal hygiene, malnutrition, anaemia, acute upper respiratory tract infections, worm infestation, scabies, minor injuries. The result revealed that self- teaching module was effective in improving the knowledge and practice of health appraisal to primary and middle schools teachers.
