Abstract

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a viral infection that is passed between people through skin-to-skin contact. The aim of the study was to assess the attitude towards HPV immunization among nursing students. The research design adopted was cross sectional design. 169 B.Sc (N) students were selected by nonprobability convenient sampling technique. The researcher used structured questionnaire to assess the demographic variables and modified CHIAS scale was used to assess the level of attitude among nursing students. The results of the study showed that, majority 116 (68.6%) of them had moderately favorable attitude, 50 (29.6%) of them had unfavorable attitude, and only 3 (1.8%) of them had favorable attitude towards HPV Immunization. The study results conclude that, as a member of the health care team, the nurses should be well educated about the HPV infection and its immunization. By increasing the theoretical content about HPV infection & Immunization by conducting CNE programs, nurses and nursing students’ attitude towards immunization can be improved.
