Abstract

An imbalance in resources and demands causes stress. When a human with paucity or limited resources is incompetent to match expectations, will struggle physically, mentally, and emotionally, resulting in physiological and psychological dysfunctions. Anxiety is a psychological condition that generates tension, anxious thoughts, and disease. It is a significant condition that has a negative impact on an individual's cognitive, behavioural, and psychological well-being. Depression is a very common syndrome that affects people of various ages, genders, socio-economic backgrounds, and religious beliefs. According to recent studies, the prevalence of sadness and anxiety among teenagers is on the rise. Stress, according to researchers, could be one of the reasons of anxiety and depression. The objective of this research is to assess the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression on 100 high school students in Tirupattur, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21). The results of the present study articulates that male students were more prone to stress, anxiety, and depression than their female counterparts.
