Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neuro behavioral disorder that typically begins in childhood and often persists into adulthood. Children have functional impairment across multiple settings including school and peer relationship. Quantitative approach, descriptive design was chosen. The study was conducted among 90 children studying 5th std children in 3 sections in Auxillium Primary school, Chennai. Convenience sampling technique was used for the study. NICHQ Vanderbilt Assessment scale was employed for data collection. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results of the study showed 7.77%(7 children) were affected with inattention disorder,5.55%(5children) affected with attention hyperactivity disorder, 2.22%(2children) affected with all the categories. There was no significant association with the demographic variables like age of children, sex, standard of study, academic performance, and residence of stay. Pediatric Nurses need to create awareness among the teachers to provoke early diagnosis and treatment for the betterment of children.
