School students are exposed to stresses and experience many kinds of environmental disorders. Objectives were on assessment of attitude of adolescent school students towards mental illnesses, determination of relationship between level of attitude and selected demographic variables and provision of pamphlets on awareness about mental illnesses. Descriptive survey design was adopted. 50 X standard students studying in Sri KRN School in Periyanaickenpalayam were the samples. Purposive sampling technique was used. Structured attitude scale on mental illnesses was applied. Majority 76% of students were under the level of unfavouarable attitude for psychosis, mental retardation and epilepsy. 24% of samples scored favourable attitude.
