This is a Pre experimental, one group pre and post test design conducted in MMM College of Nursing, situated at Nolambur, in Chennai. A sample of 41 nursing students was selected by using non-probability purposive sampling. The level of test anxiety was assessed by using NIST and DIEHL Test anxiety scale. The pretest mean test anxiety was 42 with SD of 5.81. The post test mean test anxiety was 39.84 with SD of 5.6. The calculated ’value was t = 2.17 which was found to be higher than the table value which indicated high level of statistical significant at P = <0.05. Association of post test level of anxiety of nursing students with their selected demographic variables showed that there was a statistically significant association was found between the level of post test anxiety and the demographic variable ‘Method of Study ’(X2 = 29.3). The study findings revealed that the guided imagery therapy is an effective strategy in bringing down the level of test anxiety among nursing students.
