Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of guided imagery on examination anxiety among adolescents. Study was conducted using, True experimental th Pre-test post-test research design, among 60 adoloscents (30 Control group and 30 experimental group), studying 10th Std at selected School in Tamil Nadu. Samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques, and randomly assigned to control and experimental group. Data was collected using Demographic variable proforma and Examination Anxiety scale through self administration method. Study findings revealed that, in post test, the mean examination anxiety scores in experimental group (M 22.5, SD 3.3) was lesser than the mean post test level of examination anxiety in control group (M 33.5, SD 6.4), (p < 0.001). It indicated that Guided imagery was effective in reducing the level of examination anxiety among adolescents.
