Abstract

Dyslexia is a common problem among primary school children 70–80% of children having poor reading skills. It is common in both males and females. The aim of this study is to identify dyslexic children by the primary school teachers through a planned teaching programme.

Experimental and descriptive design with one group pre test and post test approach was used to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme in identification of dyslexic children among primary school teachers.20 teachers were conveniently selected. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire.

The mean score of pre test 8.25 and post test 19.75. The ‘t'calculated value was 9.11 Therefore research hypothesis was accepted.so it can be interpreting that planned teaching programme is effective in improving the knowledge about dyslexia in primary school teachers.

The finding of the study revealed that planned teaching programme was effective in identification of dyslexic children by primary school teachers.
