The aim of the present study was to assess the growth and development of Mentally challenged children with normal children done by Madurai City Middle School and Anbagam School at Madurai. A descriptive comparative research design was adopted to assess the growth and development. The target population of the study was children having normal 30 and mentally challenged children 30. Both structured interview schedule were used to collect the data. Findings shows that's developmental skill was expected parameter in normal children than mentally challenged children. Majority of mentally challenged children delayed in the fine, language, play and psycho social development. Through this study a module was provided for growth and development activities of mentally challenged children in special schools and hospital.
