A cross-sectional survey was conducted to assess the level of depression and co-dependency among wives of alcoholics, to explore the relationship between depression and co- dependency and to find out association of depression and co-dependency with selected socio-demographic variables. 100 wives of alcoholics aged between 20 to 45 years selected by snow ball sampling. The findings revealed 32% of wives had normal depression and 59% wives were high codependent. Significant positive correlation established between depression and codependency (r=.49, p<0.01) and significant association found between depression and codependency with problem created by alcoholic husband at home and workplace [depression χ2=19.182, codependency χ2= 3.925], and spending money on alcohol [depression χ2 =13.09] at 0.05 level.
