Competency acquisition and application among the B.Sc. nursing IV year students at selected nursing college in Chennai

Nurses are people who need self-assessment to maintain and improve their practice by identifying their strengthsand weakness in the areas that may need to be further developed. At present in the pandemic situation nursing staff and students needs moreskill acquisition and it has to be applied at the various clinical setting. A Non- experimental study was conducted to assess the level of competency acquisition and application among the B.Sc. Nursing IV year students at selected nursing college. A descriptiveresearchdesignwasadoptedforthestudyand30B.Sc.Nursing IV year students were selected using convenient sampling technique. Nurse Competency Scale (NCS) a standardized tool was used to assess the level of competency acquisition and application among the B.Sc. Nursing IV students for the duration of 10 – 15 minutes. The study findings showed 63.3%.nursing students had moderate level of competency.
