Abstract

Pneumonia is a common acute respiratory infection that affects the alveoli and distal bronchial tree of the lungs. Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs. Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is the prominent cause of mortality and morbidity with important clinical impact across the globe. CURB-65, also known as the CURB criteria, is a clinical prediction rule that has been validated for predicting mortality in community-acquired pneumonia and infection of any site. The Study to assess the knowledge regarding CURB 65 score on identifying severity of Community acquired pneumonia among staff nurses working in ICU. A total of 30 staff nurses were selected as sample. Self-administered questionnaires was used to assess the level of knowledge regarding CURB 65 Score on identifying severity of Community Acquired Pneumonia among Staff Nurses. The study results showed that staff nurses having inadequate knowledge regarding CURB-65 score on identify severity of Community Acquired Pneumonia.
