A pre experimental study to assess the effectiveness of mirror therapy on limb motor dysfunction among patients with CVA admitted in a selected hospital at Thanjavur. One group pretest-posttest research design was used among 30 upper limb motor dysfunction patients with CVA by using a non probability purposive sampling technique. The modified Fugl-Meyer assessment scale was given to assess the motor dysfunction in pretest and posttest levels. The pretest shows that levels of motor dysfunction signify that 20(67%) of the patients had a Mild level of Motor impairment, 10(33%) of the patients had a moderate level of motor. The assessment of posttest shows that levels of upper limb motordysfunction signifies that none had a severe level of motor impairment, 3(10%) of the patients had a moderate level of motor impairment, 19(63%) patients had a mild level of motor impairment and 8(27%) had Normal level of Motor function. The assessment of pretest and posttest levels of motor impairment among CVA patients were 23.2 (SD=1.776) and 25.46 (SD=1.689) respectively with the paired t’ value is 10.3 which issignificantat 0.05 level. Hence it was concluded that the mirror therapy was effective in reducing upper limb motor dysfunction among patients with CVA.
