Effect of Cryotherapy on Arteri Ovenousfustula Puncture Pain Among Patients on Hemo Dialysis

The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of cryotherapy on Arteriovenous fistula puncture pain among hemo dialysis patients. Anevaluative approach and true experimental - post test only control group design was used with simple random sampling. 60patients were included between the age group of 21 - 70 years for the study at selected hospital, Trichy. Intervention cryotherapy was given to the experimental group and post test was done for both groups. The findings revealed that the post test mean score Arteriovenous fistula puncture pain was 2.53 + 1.27 in the experimental group and 7.06 + 1.28 in the control group. The calculated ‘t’ value 13.48 was significant at p<0.001. The study concluded that cryotherapy is anoninvasive cost effective method to reduced AVF puncture pain.
