Abstract

Quasi experimental non randomized control group design was used to assess the effect of breathing retraining on functional capacity of lungs among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The study was conducted in pulmo clinic. Breathing retraining was taught to the experimental group whereas the control group received routine care. The study results showed that there was significant difference in the mean functional capacity of lungs between experimental and control group. Hence the study was concluded that the breathing retraining was effective in improving functional capacity of lungs among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
