Lymphedema is a common and troublesome condition that develops following breast cancer treatment. A prospective randomized study to assess the effectiveness of lymphatic massage on lymphedema among breast cancer patients at Erode Cancer Centre was conducted in which 60 samples were selected using random sampling technique and the 30 samples in the experimental group received lymphatic massage with standard methods of care and 30 were in control group. Lymphedema was assessed by using circumferential measurement. The mean posttest lymphedema score in experimental group showed 7.42 whereas in the control group showed 7.42. and the paired t test value 5.77 at (p<0.05). Patients suffering from lymphedema improved significantly with lymphatic massage.
