Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an effective, non-invasive clinical tool, which characterizes the electrical activities of a heart, recorded by placing the electrodes on a patient's body. The aim of the study was to quantify the nursing workflow in monitoring ECG at cath day care centres. Time motion study design was adopted for conducting this study. This study was conducted in Apollo Main hospital, Chennai. Sample included 50 nurses, who were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using Demographic variable proforma and observational checklist with time schedule. Nurses spend 79% of their time for value added activities and 21% for the non value added activities in monitoring ECG of the patients.
