Abstract

Urinary incontinence is common, affecting about 1 out of 3 older people. Some people are incontinent every time they urinate, whereas many others are incontinent intermittently. A Pre-experimental pre test posttest design was adopted to assess the effectiveness of pelvic floor muscle exercise to control urinary incontinence among 30 women through convenient sampling was conducted at selected old age home. Pre test level of knowledge and level of incontinence were assessed by structured interview questionnaire and Modified Sandviketal Severity Index tool. Post test were assessed after the intervention. The results revealed that there was statistically significant level of knowledge and severity of urinary incontinence.
