Abstract

CT scan is most often used to obtain information that has not been provided by other imaging techniques. A quasi experimental design with Pre-test post-test was used among 60 samples selected through non probability sampling technique at government head quarters hospital at Tenkasi. The study revealed that the mean value of anxiety in experimental group before intervention was 0.46 and 42.7 after CT examination. The standard deviation for anxiety was 44.53 before intervention and 3.7 after CT examination. Obtained “t ”value for anxiety level in the experimental group before giving sensory procedural information and after CT was 12.53 significant at p<0.05 level. It reveals that there is decreased level of anxiety after CT examination. There was association between post test level of anxiety with their selected demographic variables such as age, education, occupation, income and body parts subjected to CT.
