Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer among woman. The important aspect of awareness is the dissemination of knowledge about breast cancer whch is curable and if diagnosed early survival rate is good. Breast self examination (BSE) is a simple and cost effective method of breast cancer Screening in limited resources countries like India. The objectives of the study is to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of married women regarding breast cancer and breast self examination, and to determine the association between these with selected variables. A cross sectional descriptive research design with purposive sampling technique and an instrument which was developed by the investigators was used for a sample of 50 married women between age group 20–60 years residing in Iniyanoor village, Trichy district. The results revealed that 46% of the participants had adequate knowledge and practice, 40% had highly favourable attitude towards the breast cancer and BSE awareness.
