Abstract

The present study assessed the knowledge regarding nosocomial infection control among nursing students in selected College of Nursing. The objectives of the study is to assess the knowledge regarding nosocomial infection control among first year BSc Nursing students of selected College of Nursing. The research approach adopted for this study was quantitative approach. It was a descriptive study conducted among the nursing students in Thiruvalla. Sampling technique used was convenient sampling and the sample size was 50. The data collected using structured knowledge questionnaires. It was found that 58% of the students have good knowledge regarding the nosocomial infection and 42% of students have average knowledge regarding the standards of nosocomial infection. Reliability {r=0.52} of the tool was tested by using a split half method.
