Abstract

A Descriptive study was doneto assess the attitude on usage of mobile phone by children among parents attending OPD in a selected hospital, Salem. 60 samples were selected through non probability convenient sampling technique. 3 point Likert scale was used to collect the data.The findings revealed that15(25%) and 45(75%) parents haveleast favorableand unfavorable attitude respectively regarding mobile phone usage among children. The mean and standard deviation for least favorable attitude is 49.10 ± 4.81 and unfavorable attitude is 67.01 ± 1.02. There was significant association found between level of parental attitude onusage of mobile phone by children with the selected demographic variables.The study implies that most of the parents have unfavorable attitude on usage of mobile phone by children.
