Abstract

COVID-19 pandemicity has brought the world to a deadlock. During this period classes were shifted from traditional online classes to virtual classes and suspension of clinical experience. It affected nursing students in all (educational, physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual) dimensions. As nursing is a profession that utilizes tri domain, it faced major setback in training students. The investigation team was interested in assessing the impact of COVID 19 on nursing students using a descriptive design. The study was conducted at The Salvation Army Catherine Booth College of Nursing. Convenience sampling technique was used. 163 sample participated in the study. The impact was assessed using five point nominal scale on Educational (theory and clinical), Psychological, Socio-spiritual and health aspects. The results showed that there is positive impact on nursing theoretical education which was conveyed with online classes however it has got negative impact in nursing clinical experiences due to suspension of postings. Students were also affected in psychological, physical (health), social and spiritual aspect. The main reasons were restriction of transportation, lockdown, quarantine, social isolation, disease transferability etc. The study can be conducted in large sample to understand its magnitude in depth.
