Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic inclined education and forced universities to move from face-to-face teaching to virtual mode of teaching. This unexpected shift in educational pedagogy triggered educators to face several challenges. The purpose of this study was to exploring the nursing teacher's perception on factors influencing teaching and learning process in virtual mode within the context of COVID-19 national wide lockdown. A qualitative design guided by a phenomenological approach was used. Through purposive sampling technique, each cadre wise 7 teachers were selected and group discussions was conducted through zoom platform. Through the thematic analysis, the following factors like physical, psychological, socio economic, environment, cultural and technology were derived as theme and followed by19 sub themes was analyzed with participants perception. The study concludes that, many factors influenced teaching and learning process in virtual mode. Hence, nursing teachers desire to continue the teaching and to enhance students learning and hands on practice through offline mode compared to virtual mode.
