Nursing education is transformed to empower nursing students through various prospects and challenges. Taking into consideration the fact that nursing research is integrated with the third year DGNM and the B.Sc. (N) syllabi, a comparative study was done to gain a deeper understanding into their perceptions. A study to assess the knowledge and attitude of nursing students towards research. Objectives were, to assess the knowledge and attitude of nursing students regarding research. to compare the knowledge and attitude of nursing students regarding research, to associate the knowledge and attitude with selected demographic variables. The study adopted quantitative research approach with a comparative research design. The study was conducted in St. Ann’s School and College of Nursing, Thoothukudi, Tamilnadu. Third year (DGNM and B.Sc. (N)) students were selected as samples. Purposive sampling technique was used. The sample size is 86. Demographic data (age, previous knowledge, type of programme etc), questionnaire to assess knowledge and attitude scale by Papanastasious was used. The study findings revealed that both B.Sc.(N) and DGNM students are having same knowledge and attitude towards research.
