Abstract

Path analysis is a form of statistical analysis used to evaluate causal models by examining the relationships between a dependent variable and two or more independent variables. Variables in path analysis are Endogenous versus Exogenous Variables, Manifest versus Latent Variables and Residual variables. Direct effect, indirect effect, spurious effect, total effect and correlated effect can be analyzed using path analysis. The use of path analysis in nursing research is discussed in this article.
