Effectiveness of field trip and seminar method of teaching on knowledge regarding occupational therapy for psychiatry patients among third year B. Sc nursing students

Abstract

Occupation therapy prepares students to work with children and adults who have physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities that interfere with their ability to engage in life. Disabilities that interfere with their ability to engage in life tasks. This can make the concept and show how it is to use in nursing education and nursing practice. Referring on how we learn and process including information is key to the process. The samples were selected by Random sampling technique was used. The sample of the study comprised of 40 third year B. Sc nursing students (flied trip-20, seminar-20).The study finding showed that level of knowledge of third year B. Sc nursing students in seminar post test score 8 (40%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 12 (60%) had adequate knowledge and in flied trip post test score 4 (20%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 16 (80%) had adequate knowledge regarding on occupation therapy. The chi-square test revealed that at p<0.05 there is an association between knowledge of third year B. Sc nursing students on occupation therapy. The study concluded that there was a significant improvement in the level of knowledge on occupational therapy after field trip and seminar method of teaching.
