Abstract

Academic stress among college can affect their progress and may lead to psychological symptoms. The objectives were to assess the level of academic stress and to associate it with selected demographic variables. The descriptive research design was adopted with a convenience sampling technique for 50 samples from I year BSc Nursing at TSACBCON*. A semi structured questionnaire was used and analysis was done using descriptive & inferential statistics. The findings revealed that about 74% of the samples belong to 17–18 years, 92% of them were females, 70% of Christians and 88% of them joined nursing course with their own interest. Among them, majority(78%) of the students are facing moderate stress. The gender and availability of siblings in a family have a significant association yet the others have no significant association.
