Effectiveness of video assissted teaching on knowledge regarding selected first aid measures among school teachers at selected schools, puducherry

Abstract

First aid is the initial care for ill and injured. Therefore, teaching first aids should be compulsory in all schools through advanced methods of teaching strategies. 55 samples were selected by non probability convenient sampling and quasi experimental research design was adopted. The finding showed that in the experimental pre - test knowledge score mean and standard deviation was 21.6±3.33 & post test knowledge score mean and standard deviation was 32.6±5.38 t value was 8.02 at P <0.001 level. Control group pre - test knowledge score mean and standard deviation was 21.0±4.23 post test knowledge score mean and standard deviation was 20.57±6.22 t value was 0.34 at P=0.739level. The results have shown that there is a significant improvement in knowledge regarding first aid measures among school teachers. The study was concluded that first aid measures not only benefits for individual, but it extends to the family, friends, co-workers and even the community as whole.
