Fresh graduate nurses often go through a period of high anxiety, stress and encounter many challenges in their first year after graduation. Studies have reported that unpreparedness contributes to the high rate of care errors by new graduate nurse. Nursing faculty need to take effort in educational environment to ease the transition from student to registered nurse. Mentoring programme can help the student nurse for the role change from novice to experts. Organization and academic nursing leaders have to implement specific programs that focus on building new graduate nurses confidence and competence in order to facilitate their transition and alleviate the negative impacts.
