Educational objectives are the pillars for quality lesson plan. Adequate knowledge on educational objectives and lesson planning is mandatory for a quality teaching. Lesson planning is the basic element to be a successful teacher. Hence a study was undertaken to assess the level of knowledge on educational objectives and to evaluate the quality of lesson plan prepared by the nurse educators. Descriptive design was used. A total of 438 nurse educators from 39 Colleges of Nursing in 8 districts from 4 zones in Tamil Nadu were selected using multistage sampling technique. A structured multiple choice item to assess the knowledge on concepts of educational objectives and the rating scale to assess the quality of Lesson Plan was used. The results revealed that majority (93.4%) of the samples need to improve their knowledge and 72.4% of the samples’ quality of lesson plan was fair. There was no statistically significant correlation between the knowledge on educational objectives with the quality of lesson plan.
