Institutional human ethics committee (ihec)

Institutional Human Ethics Committee (IHEC) is the committee formed of a group of people who go through the research protocol / proposal submitted by the researcher and state whether the research is ethically acceptable and not harming the study participants. Ethical Committee is to ensure a thorough scientific and ethical review of research as per national guidelines and regulations to safeguard the dignity, rights, safety and well-being of research participants. Ethical Committee should provide advice to the researchers on all aspects of the welfare and safety of the research participants after ensuring the scientific soundness of the proposed research through appropriate Scientific Review Committee.
