Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) empower learners of all ages with adequate knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to deal with the consistent global challenges we are facing, including climate change, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity, poverty and inequality. This article tries to explore the implementation of sustainable development education in the Nursing Curriculum can be changed 1. Environmental Sustainability 2. Economic Sustainability and 3. Social Sustainability. This area of the syllabus has different perceptions from student's side as it is the environment that would empower them to fulfill their needs and aspirations by striking a balance between economy and ecology Faculty opine that education for sustainable development is related to the teaching of environmental education, and development education and is concerned with promotion of values, attitudes and understanding to bring an overall behavioral change by education. They also follow different pedagogy for the teaching. Education is referred to bring behavioral change and guide in making informed decisions and inclusion of concepts of sustainable development will initiate to take strategic action by individual and collective action to induce the change necessary for the society.
