Polycysticovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition which can affect a woman's menstrual cycle, fertility, hormones and aspects of her appearance. Polycystic ovarian disease is very common affecting a women, PCOS Produces symptoms in approximately 5% to10% of women of reproductive age (’12-45years old).The present study is carried out to assess the effectiveness of self-instructional on module on knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls of sardar rajas college of nursing, Tirunelveli.
1. To assesses the level of pretest and posttest knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of self-instructional module on knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls. 3.To find out the association between level of knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls and their selected demographic variables.
The research design selected for the study was pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design. Pre assessment on the level of knowledge was assessed by using structured knowledge questionnaire, self-instructional module was given for 15 minutes. Posttest was done after seven days.
The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings showed that there was a significant gain in the level of knowledge among the adolescent girls who were received self-instructional module.
