Effectiveness of nurse led intervention on knowledge and attitude on preventive practices of Covid-19 Among antenatal mothers

COVID-19 is a global public health emergency. Reports and research show that pregnant women have a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 than non pregnant women.

To assess the effectiveness of nurse led intervention on knowledge and attitude on preventive practices of covid19 among antenatal mothers.

Pre - experimental, one group pre and post-test design used, and 105 antenatal mothers were selected using convenience sampling technique on the basis of inclusive criteria. Data was collected on knowledge and attitude about preventive practices of covid 19.

The pre-test mean knowledge was 8.95 ±2.31 and after nurse led interventions the level of knowledge on precautionary practices towards COVID 19 in post-test improved to 23.17 ± 2.764 proving high level of statistical significance (p<.0.001). Hence it indicates, that nurse led interventions was highly effective.

A time of crisis is also an opportunity for nurses to look into the future, educate and incorporate preventive measures such as hand washing, social distancing, wearing of face masks, etc, to minimize the spread of the virus.
