Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition which can affect a woman's menstrual cycle, fertility, hormones, and aspects of her appearance. Polycystic ovarian disease is very common affecting woman. PCOS produces symptoms in approximately 5% to 10% of women of reproductive age (12-45years old).
The present study is carried out to assess the effectiveness of self-instructional on module on knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls of Sardar Rajas College of Nursing, Tirunelveli.
To evaluate the effectiveness of self-instructional module on among adolescent girls regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls, using pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design. The level of knowledge was assessed by using structured knowledge questionnaire, self-instructional module was given and posttest was done after seven days. The data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics was used for analysis. The findings showed that there was a significant gain in the level of knowledge among the adolescent girls who have received self-instruction almodule.
