Effectiveness of Self-Instructional Material (SIM) on Knowledge Regarding ABCL (Antara, Billings, Chhaya, Lactational Amenorrhea) Method of Contrac Eption Among Primi Gravida Mothers in a Selected PHC, Namakkal District

The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of SIM on ABCL method. A quantitative, Pre experimental one group pre and post-test research design was adopted. 30 Primi gravida mothers were selected to assess knowledge using semi structured questionnaire before and after administration of SIM. Study results unwrapped knowledge score (18.86±1.08) in pretest level and post-test knowledge was higher than pretest level of knowledge (7.9±1.46) on ABCL method of contraception. The study concluded that SIM was effective in improving the knowledge on ABCL method of contraception among prim gravida mothers.
