Post menopause is a weak period of women life. Low back pain is a very common health problem amongst post menopausal women and a major cause of disability that affects work performances and well-being. Low back pain can be acute, subacute or chronic. Back strengthening exercise is an alternative therapy to reduce the low back pain. A study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of back strengthening exercise among postmenopausal women. A preexperimental one group pre-test and post-test research design was used with the purposive sampling technique to select the samples of 30 postmenopausal women who satisfied the inclusive criteria for the study. Women who had moderate to severe back pain were chosen for the study by using numerical pain scale Assessment. Pre-test level of low back pain was assessed using the Oswestry Low Back pain Disability questionnaire. Back strengthening exercise was given by the researcher for a period of 7 days. The post-test was done using the same questionnaire at the end of intervention. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The pre-test mean value was 40.6 and the post test mean value was 24.2 shows highly significant reduction in the level of low back pain among post menopausal women.
