Respectful maternity care is essential for maternal & child welfare. Disrespect and abuse to be addressed to improve the quality of maternity care to achieve women centered and respectful care. The aim of the study is to develop a teaching module on respectful maternity care for midwifery students. A non experimental descriptive study design was adopted for this study. The study was conducted in Velammal School and college of nursing among the midwifery students of both B.Sc (N) & GNM programme 45 +49 students respectively. Non probability convenience sampling technique was used.
27 (28.7%) of the participants had adequate knowledge, whereas 67 (71.3%) of participants had inadequate level of knowledge on respectful maternity care. All the 94 (100%) of the participants had positive attitude on respectful Maternity care.
By implementing educational interventions on respectful maternity care along with providing continuous training and support, we can ensure that students are equipped to deliver respectful and high-quality care to pregnant women.
