Effectiveness of Computer Assisted Teaching on Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Injectable Contraception Among Third Trimester Antenatal Mothers

Injectable contraception (DepoMedroxy progesterone acetate) is a hormonal drug that provides women with safe highly effective reversible contraception. The aims of the study to assess the effectiveness of computer assisted teaching regarding injectable contraception among antenatal mothers at selected setting. The study adopted an evaluative approach. One group pretest posttest design was used for the present study. The 50-study samples were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study results shows that in pre-test out of 50 sample, majority 39 (78%) of them had inadequate knowledge and 34 (68%) of them had unfavorable attitude level, 11 (22%) of them had moderately adequate knowledge and 16 (32%) of them had moderately favorable attitude level, no sample had adequate knowledge and no sample had favorable attitude level. In post-test after administration of computer assisted teaching, majority 33 (66%) of them had adequate knowledge and 46 (92%) of them had favorable attitude level. 17 (34%) of them had moderate level of knowledge and 4 (8%) of them had moderate favorable level of attitude. No sample had inadequate knowledge and unfavorable level of attitude. The calculated value of ‘t’ is greater than the tabulated value of ‘t’ at (p<0.05) level of significant. The significant association was founded age (X2=11.82) & education (X2=26.1) in pre-test knowledge score and only decision maker (X2=76.1) in pretest attitude score among Third Trimesters Antenatal Mothers on injectable contraception.
