Salt is the major mineral element that plays a fundamental role in health and disease. Miscarriage and pre-eclampsia are the most common pregnancy complications of excessive salt intake. This review article is an attempt to present the findings of scientific studies related to salt in complications of pregnancy. Relevant Papers were identified from Science Direct, Google Scholar and pub med by using all combinations of the search terms related to salt in pregnancy.
