Introduction: This study is to evaluate the Effectiveness of acupressure on lactation among immediate postnatal mothers at selected hospitals Kanyakumari District. Methods: A pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design was adapted for the study.125 immediate postnatal mothers who met the inclusion criteria were selected using purposive sampling from C.S.I. Hospital Neyyoor. Paired ‘t ’test was used to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure on lactation. Chi square test was used to find out the association between posttest breasts feeding with selected demographic variables. Results: In the pretest out of 125 immediate postnatal mothers 107 (83%) have reported moderate level of breast feeding and 21 had inadequate level of breast feeding whereas in Post-test III 90 (72%) mothers were able to breast feed adequately. The difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: This showed that acupressure was effective in promoting lactation among immediate postnatal mothers.
